Zimbabwe Electronics Games Association is the official Esports Federation in Zimbabwe registered with the Sports and Recreation Commission of Zimbabwe under the Ministry of Sports Arts and Culture whose NSA registration number is 57 and license registration number is 057 in line with Sports and Recreation Commission Act ( 25:15) a proud associate member of International Esports Federation (I.E.S.F) , Global Esports Federation , World Phygital , Global Esports Federation (G.E.F)
The CODE OF Conduct of ZEGA is dedicated to fostering a fair, transparent, and inclusive environment for all participants in the esports ecosystem. Our Code of Ethics serves as a guiding framework for maintaining the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect in all aspects of our operations. It reflects our unwavering commitment to competition integrity, fair play, and the development of a player-centric ecosystem. This document outlines the principles and expectations for behavior that ensure the well-being of players, club affiliate members, Club Chairmans and other members under Zimbabwe Electronics Games Association,the credibility of competitions, and the professionalism of everyone involved in Esports activities in Zimbabwe . By adhering to this code, we aim to uphold the values that define ZEGA and create an esports environment where excellence, fairness, and respect are paramount. 1. Core Values 1.1. Integrity: Upholding the highest standards of honesty and sportsmanship in all competitions and during esports related meetings 1.2. Fair Play: Ensuring all competitions are conducted fairly, without bias, favoritism, or manipulation. 1.3. Player-Centric: Prioritizing the well-being, development, and fair treatment of players at all times. 1.4 ZEGA has Zero tolerance on violence, sexual harassment , online abuse, cyber bulling , verbal abuse , racism, elitism, sexism 2. Competition Integrity 2.1. All competitions must be conducted with transparency and fairness. Any form of cheating, match-fixing, or manipulation is strictly prohibited in line with IESF, GEF and ACES rules 2.2. Rules and regulations should be applied consistently, ensuring that no player or team gains an unfair advantage. 2.3. Referees, organizers, and participants are expected to act impartially to maintain the integrity of the game. 3. Fair Play 3.1. Players and teams should compete with respect for their opponents, displaying sportsmanship and professionalism at all times. 3.2. Unethical behavior, such as harassment, abusive language, violence or unsportsmanlike conduct, is unacceptable during Esports related activities including business meetings 3.3. Players must avoid using performance-enhancing drugs or other prohibited methods that undermine the fairness of the competition. 4. Player Development and Well-being 4.1. ZEGA is committed to fostering an environment where players can grow and thrive. 4.2 Player rights, including fair Play and should be respected and protected. 5. Conflict of Interest 5.1. Members of ZEGA or any Esports club within Zimbabwe, including organizers, and officials, must seek permission to enter any Tertiary , High School,Primary School or any Kindergarten from the ZEGA executive board 5.2. Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed and resolved in a transparent manner to ensure fairness. 6. Confidentiality 6.1. Any personal or proprietary information obtained during competitions or player development activities must be kept confidential, unless disclosure is required by law or by the executive board. 6.2. Players' personal data, including health and performance records, must be treated with respect and protected from unauthorized access. 7. Commitment to High Standards 7.1. Competitions: ZEGA is committed to organizing and overseeing competitions that reflect the highest standards of professionalism, fairness, and excellence. All tournaments will be conducted with rigorous adherence to rules, and participants will be held to the same high expectations for behavior and performance. 7.2. Employees and Staff: ZEGA expects all employees, officials, and staff to embody the organization’s values of integrity, respect, and professionalism. They must perform their duties to the best of their ability and consistently uphold the principles outlined in this code of ethics. 7.3. Continuous Improvement: ZEGA is dedicated to continuously evaluating and improving its standards to ensure that its competitions, ecosystem, and internal operations evolve with industry best practices and ethical considerations. 8. Respect and Inclusion 8.1. ZEGA fosters an inclusive and respectful environment for all participants, regardless of their background, gender, ethnicity, or other characteristics. 8.2. Discrimination ,violence or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, and actions will be taken to ensure that all participants feel safe and respected this include Esports related meetings whether events or business meetings. 9. Compliance with Laws and Regulations 9.1. All members and participants are expected to comply with local, national, and international laws and regulations. 9.2. ZEGA is committed to ensuring that its competitions and activities align with legal and ethical standards globally. 10. Accountability and Enforcement 10.1. Any violations of this code of ethics will be taken seriously. A fair and transparent process will be followed to investigate and resolve any complaints or breaches. 10.2. Consequences for violations may include suspension, fines, or expulsion from Esports related activities or competitions in Zimbabwe , depending on the severity of the offense. This code of conduct may change annually to improve our Esports Ecosystem in Zimbabwe
